Hi Dick,
A friend of mine gave me your website and I'm enjoying looking at it. I was originally from Southbridge and moved to PA in 1967. I worked at the AO for 5yrs. before I moved. In fact, when I was looking for a job, I was interviewed by your father. There is a little story that you might appreciate about my interview. Your father asked me a few algebra questions during the interview and during this time I picked him up on a mistake that he made and he said to the other man that was there at the time that if I was able to pick him up on a mistake that I was qualified for the job. I was hired on the spot and worked all 5years for him. He was a wonderful man to work for. My mother also worked at the AO for I can't tell you how many years, but it was a lot. She originally worked in the accounting office and then quit to raise my sister and me then was asked to come back to fill in for someone in the personnel department for 3mos. and ended up staying there for over 25yrs.
In checking you site, I came across the pictures of the Sesquicentennial parade. It brought back memories as I was the second runner up for the queen of the sesquicentennial. It really was not a beauty pageant. In order to win first place you had to sell the most tickets for the play that they
put on for the affair. I have a picture of the girls on the float. If you are interested in having it for you site, let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
I also liked
looking and the picture of them
skating at
the Southbridge reservoir. I use to skate
there myself and also swam there in the summer. I
will
be
attending
my
50th class reunion from Notre Dame High School in October.
It is going to be a combined reunion for
everyone that went to that school. It should be a lot of fun.
I will make sure that I tell them
of your site so that they can also go
back in time.
Keep up the good work
on the site.
